Services provided by Sonia Alese Massage Therapy are designated to be used as a health aid and in no way are intended to take the place of a doctor’s care when it is indicated. Any health-related information given to a client is to be used at their own discretion. Sonia Alese Massage Therapy does not provide spinal manipulations nor prescribe medications or physical therapy plans.
DEPOSIT: New clients will be asked to pay $30 deposit upon booking an appointment, this acts as a "no show fee" in the event that they don't show up to the appointment or don't cancel with at least 24hrs notice. If the client does cancel with at least 24 hrs notice, they will have a $30 credit they can use to reschedule.
There are no refunds on deposits unless the massage therapist is the one who has an emergency, cancels the session and is unable to get the client rescheduled within the next few days following the cancellation-- it is reasonable that the client might want to make a massage appointment elsewhere with someone who can get them in sooner, so a refund will be issued to them.
INTAKE FORMS:
Clients should try to be 10 minutes early to their first massage appointment to fill out the health intake forms and sign the informed consent regarding the policy and procedures page. Clients should bring a picture I.D. to prove their identity. The client must agree to update the massage therapist of any health changes that may occur in the future so that the health intake is always up to date.
Health intake information provided by the client will be used for the sole purpose of creating a customized massage treatment plan/s and information provided will be kept confidential in compliance with HIPAA law. Treatment plans are created based upon the clients' goals.
DURING THE MASSAGE SESSION: It is the massage client's responsibility to inform the massage therapist if they experience any pain or discomfort during the treatment session so that appropriate adjustments can be made.
The massage client has the right to request to end the massage session at any time, no reason needs to be given other than wanting to end the massage early, however the client will still be responsible for paying the full booked time the massage appointment was made for.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If a client needs to cancel a massage appointment, they must provide Sonia Alese Massage Therapy with at least 24 hours notice by phone prior to the appointment time. If the client fails to do so, they must pay a $30 “no show” fee.
TARDINESS: When clients who show up late to a massage appointment, the massage session will still end at the scheduled time and the client will still owe the full amount even if it was cut short due to tardiness. If the client is more than 15 minutes late to a massage appointment, it will be automatically cancelled and the client will owe a $30 “no show” fee.
NO TOLERANCE FOR HARASSMENT: Sonia Alese Massage Therapy does not provide sexual favors of any kind and clients are required by law to be draped during massage sessions. Harassment of any kind – verbal, physical or sexual—towards the massage therapist will not be tolerated and may result in the client being escorted off the premises immediately, and depending on the severity of harassment, a police report may be filed against them.
The client will still be responsible for full financial compensation for the entire massage session that was booked regardless of how much time I actually received.
GIFT CERTIFICATE POLICY: There are no refunds on gift certificates, they can be transferred to someone else. Please inform Sonia Alese Massage Therapy if you plan to sell or regift your massage gift certificate.
Prices for services can change over the years, but a gift certificate's cash value will never expire. For example, if someone purchased $60/one hour massage back in 2014, but the current price is $80/one hour massage. The client would have to pay the $20 increase in price difference.
In the event that someone holds onto a gift certificate for decades and I am about to retire, they will receive a 30 day notice to redeem their gift certificate or receive the cash value paid back to them as a refund.
ONLINE DEALS, SPECIALS OR ADS: I do not honor "deals" or "specials" that are on other websites about my business. There is a lot of out of date and incorrect information out there. If there is a deal or special I am offering, it will be listed on: my website and/or my massagebook page.
Discounts I always offer: $5/off for all military and former military with militray I.D., $5/off seniors 65+ with I.D., $5/off students with current school I.D. card.
ILLNESS: Clients must cancel their massage appointment when they have a cold, flu, and/or fever within the last 7 days, so that they don't expose the massage therapist.
COVID-19: It is optional for clients to wear a mask. The massage therapist can wear a mask upon the clients' request. The table, facerest, chair, bench, stool, dressers, clipboard, pens, hooks and doorknobs, will all be cleaned and disinfected between each client. Fresh clean sheets will be put on the table for each client and equipment will be cleaned and disinfected as well.
Even if masks are worn and all surfaces are cleaned and disinfected, it is impossible for a massage therapist to maintain 6 feet distance during a massage from the client, and Covid-19 is widespread at this point. Clients are coming in knowing there is an assumed risk they could get infected and will release Sonia Alese Massage Therapy from liability related to covid-19.
